VAPORESSO LUXE Q2 & Q2 SE

Product intro and specs

Introducing the latest pod systems from VAPORESSO – the LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE. As expected from VAPORESSO’s reputation for quality vaping devices, these two new pod systems deliver an excellent vaping experience in a compact format.

The LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE share many similarities as simple, user-friendly pod vapes, but the LUXE Q2 has several upgraded features that justify its higher price point. These include faster USB-C charging, adjustable airflow, and stylish leather paneling on the device exterior. The LUXE Q2 SE is a more budget-friendly option without these extras. Both pods have a battery capacity of 1000 mAh and hold 3 mL of vape juice, while maintaining compatibility with earlier 2 mL LUXE Q pods.

Previous LUXE Q pod systems have been highly rated for their performance, and early reviews suggest the new LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE live up to their predecessors. With the choice between an affordable pod vape in the Q2 SE or a more advanced experience with the Q2, VAPORESSO has added two impressive new options to their popular LUXE Q pod system lineup.

The key components included with each kit are listed out. The LUXE Q2 comes with one 0.6 ohm and one 1.0 ohm pod for adjustable airflow, while the Q2 SE has a single 0.8 ohm pod. Both contain the battery, USB-C cable, manuals, and warranty info. The Q2 SE also includes a lanyard.

Build quality and design

The LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE share a very similar compact pod system design, with the main differences being the Q2’s leather paneling and adjustable airflow control. The Q2 SE features some color options with a clear case, but the interior chip is covered by an abstract design.

The draw style varies between the two models – the Q2 SE has a loose MTL draw, while the Q2’s airflow can be adjusted from a tight MTL to a restricted DTL vape. However, both are best suited for MTL vaping given the lower wattage output.

In terms of build quality, both pods feel solid and durable, easily surviving drops thanks to their lightweight and pocketable size. LED battery life indicators are present on both, but the Q2’s display is more advanced.

There are 5 color options for the Q2 and 8 for the Q2 SE, providing a good amount of customization for users. Neither pod system has adjustable wattage or power – they simply activate on inhale for straightforward vaping.

Overall, the build quality is excellent on both the LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE, with the main hardware differences being the Q2’s adjustable airflow and leather accents versus the budget-friendly fixed airflow on the Q2 SE.

Getting started

The LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE are beginner-friendly pod systems that could not be easier to use. There are no buttons to press or settings to adjust – simply inhale to vape whenever you want.

Both devices are compatible with the “LUXE Q” line of pods, including 3mL pods and older 2mL pods from previous LUXE models. The magnetic pods snap securely into place with no wiggle, and are easy to remove when needed.

Filling the pods depends on the style – older pods feature a top fill design where the mouthpiece pops off to access the fill port. Newer styles utilize a rubber plug on the pod’s side.

The pods are partially see-through but not fully transparent, so you’ll need to tilt them to check your juice level as they run low. Overall, though, the straightforward magnetic pod connection and easy filling makes these vapes perfect for beginners looking for a simple, quality pod system.

Performance

The most important component of any pod system is the coil, so let’s focus on the three new pods compatible with the LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE.

The LUXE Q2 SE comes with only one 0.8 ohm mesh pod, which is disappointing since two pods should be standard. The LUXE Q2 includes two pods – one 0.6 ohm mesh and one 1.0 ohm mesh.

In my testing, all three pods lasted through at least 10 refills, delivering excellent flavor and coil lifespan. The 1.0 ohm pod is best suited for tighter MTL draws, while the 0.8 ohm and 0.6 ohm options work better for a slightly looser MTL. Overall the performance is great across all pods, so vapers can choose their preferred draw style.

While the coil performance is impressive, VAPORESSO should have included two pods with the LUXE Q2 SE kit. But for pre-filled pod longevity and flavor, the new LUXE coils deliver.

Battery life and charging

Both the LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE deliver excellent battery life that should easily last a full day for most vapers.

The specs list a 1000mAh battery for each device. In my testing, they both had around 900mAh of usable capacity – above the industry average since many devices overstate their capacity.

The LUXE Q2 is listed as having a 2A charge rate and 30 min charge time. I measured the max charge rate at 1.55A, so closer to 1.5A in reality, with a 45 min charge time. Still fast, but not quite as fast as advertised.

The Q2 SE is listed as 1A charging. I measured 0.82A max, taking about 80 mins for a full charge. Slightly below the listed rate but still very reasonable.

For battery meters, the Q2 SE just has a white LED that flashes when empty, so no real indicator. The Q2 has an excellent 3-color LED:

Green: 70-100%
Blue: 30-70%
Red: 0-30%

You can check the LED by removing the pod. Both devices use a convenient USB-C charging port.

So while the charge rates are slightly exaggerated, the real-world battery life and charging speeds are great on both the LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE.

VAPORESSO LUXE Q vs. LUXE QS summary

The LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE share many similarities as compact, quality pod systems, but have some key differences that justify their pricing.

The LUXE Q2 is the more premium option at $33.90. It includes leather paneling, adjustable airflow, two pod options, and an excellent 3-color battery meter.

The LUXE Q2 SE costs only $19.90, making it the budget version. It comes with one pod, no battery meter, and fixed airflow. The battery capacity is equal, but the Q2 charges twice as fast with 2A USB-C.

So for those wanting a more customizable vape with faster charging, the LUXE Q2 is worth the extra cost. But the Q2 SE still delivers the same great coil performance and battery life in a streamlined package for under $20.

Overall, vapers can’t go wrong with either solid pod system from VAPORESSO. It just comes down to personal preferences and budget. Both are quality options in the pod vape category.

Verdict

VAPORESSO delivers two impressive pod systems with the LUXE Q2 and Q2 SE. Both perform very well and are easy to use, making them great options for beginners.

The LUXE Q2 justifies its higher price tag with upgrades like adjustable airflow, faster charging, and an improved battery meter. But the budget-friendly LUXE Q2 SE still provides excellent battery life and flavor without those premium features.

So in the end, it comes down to personal preference and budget. The Q2 caters more to vapers who want customization, while the Q2 SE focuses on simplicity and value. But you can’t go wrong with either solid pod system in VAPORESSO’s beloved LUXE Q lineup.

These are two more winners that reinforce the LUXE Q pods as some of the best for new vapers. Have you tried the LUXE Q2 or Q2 SE? Share your experiences with them in the comments below!
